In 1991, taking advantage of its established base in Argentina and the synergies involved, Uniland penetrated this small but highly competitive market through Cementos Avellaneda, making major investments in new facilities and improving and optimising existing ones.
The Uniland Group has one cement factory in Uruguay, one clinker grinding plant, an aggregate quarry and 4 concrete plants. Cementos Artigas, S.A. leads the Uruguayan market.
