Meeting our customers expectations and needs can only be done by using premium quality products. Thus in each of the countries in which we have a presence, we make a wide range of cements specifically indicated for each type of use, especially in terms of strength and durability.

The quality of the cement made in Uniland Cementera, S.A. facilities in Spain is backed by voluntary AENOR cement certification, identifiable by the N symbol on containers and delivery notes. Obtaining this voluntary certification entails strict control over raw materials, processes and end-products, which in practical terms means making cement that is as uniform as possible in its features. The continuous monitoring and supervision carried out by independent inspection and control bodies in accordance with the provisions of AENOR's cement certification regulations attest to the achievement and maintenance of these quality levels. The N symbol is a voluntary quality seal which surpasses legal requirements, and hence is a sign of quality officially recognised by the Spanish Ministry of Development which exempts the cement from the requirement to carry out the on-site reception trials provided for in prevailing legislation.

In addition to the requirements noted above, all of the activities directly related to quality which are performed in our facilities (Barcelona, Monjos and Vallcarca) are carried out within the framework of a Quality Assurance system which complies with the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard and has been certified by AENOR since 1999 (ER company register). This serves as additional proof of our commitment to continuous improvement, while simultaneously demonstrates our purpose of working to meet our customers' needs.

Last, but by no means least, all of the cement we make in Spain has the relevant CE symbol in compliance with the Construction Products Directive (89/106/EEC). Possession of these certificates enables the free movement and marketing of the product in the European Union.

All of the mortar manufactured by Prebesec S.A. bears the relevant CE symbol and complies with the requirements of the standards UNE-EN 998-1 (stucco and plastering mortar), UNE-EN 998-2 (mortar for brickwork), UNE-EN 12004 (cement-bound adhesive mortar), and EN 13888 (mortar for joints) in compliance with the Construction Products Directive (89/106/EEC).

The quality of the cement-bound adhesive mortar (adhesive cement) made by Prebesec is vouched for by the AENOR product certificate No. A53 / 000002 which certifies compliance with the requirements of standard UNE-EN 12004:2001.

The quality of our single-coat mortar is backed by the award of the Technical Suitability Document plus (DIT plus) no. 414. This document is a favourable technical assessment made by the Instituto de Ciencias de la Construcción "Eduardo Torroja" (Eduardo Torroja Construction Sciences Institute - IETcc) which evaluates voluntary aspects not covered by the CE symbol.

The quality management system in place at Prebesec complies with the requirements of standard UNE-EN ISO 9001:2000. This system has been audited and certified by AENOR and awarded the company register certificate ER-1499/2001.

Aggregate to be used for making concrete and mortar and coming from Áridos Uniland plants (quarries and gravel pits) has the relevant CE symbol and meets all the requirements of the standards UNE-EN 12620:2003 (aggregate for concrete) and UNE-EN 13139:2003 (aggregate for mortar), in compliance with the Construction Products Directive (89/106/CEE).

The quality of the cement made at the Societé des Ciments d'Enfidha facility in Tunisia is guaranteed by the Tunisian INORPI cement symbol (NT). The award of this quality seal means that the highest quality and guarantee levels demanded by official bodies in Tunisia are met.

In addition to the requirements of the quality seal, all the activities related to quality which are performed in the Enfidha plant are carried out within the framework of a Quality Assurance system which complies with the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard and has been certified by TÜV since 1998. This serves as additional proof of our commitment to continuous improvement, while simultaneously demonstrates our purpose of working to meet our customers' needs and expectations.

Finally, it should be noted that the cement manufactured at Enfidha for export to European markets has all the certifications required for its commercialisation. Thus it has the CE symbol affording it free movement and marketing in the European Union, and voluntary quality symbols in Spain (N) and in France (NF).
